Writing Prompts for the Young Reluctant Writer
Do you have a young child that LOVES stories, but HATES writing? If so, this post is for you! I’ll start off by saying Seize the Bug Adventure Books are AMAZING motivators for elementary aged kids. Seeing their own work in a hardcover book just like the ones sitting on their bookshelf makes them so proud. If they need a bit more nudging here are some writing prompts to jumpstart the flow of ideas in their mind.
Describe a fictional place and tell the reader why they should visit.
Imagine you could have a conversation with your dog. What would you talk about?
Imagine the world was run by a mouse. What would the world be like?
Create a story about what you would find on an underwater dive trip beneath the sea.
What would you pack in your suitcase if you took a trip to the Moon/Jungle/Mars/Antarctica?
What is your most favorite possession? Describe why you love it.
Write a story that includes these words: Flower, Mushy, Princess, Avocado, Falling
What is your favorite weather? Tell the reader why you like it.
Write a story about how you imagine yourself as an adult.
